We all want to succeed and a lot of people think that success will just come to them. Afterall, they are good at what they do and friends and collegues know they are open for business, naturally they assume they will succeed. You may be the best in your field but if no one knows that then that success could be much further away than you think.
"The key to making sure you succeed is planning!"
Businesses that plan are proven to be more successful than those that don't have a plan, so it's time to make your plan and set your goals for 2016!
What are your goals for 2016? How will you measure your success?
The December/ January period is the best time to assess and plan for the new year. It is generally a quieter time of the year making it a good time to think about what you want to achieve and plan out how you will achieve it.
What are your goals for 2016? Will you be aiming to gain new clients, win a major project, increase your membership base or double your annual profit?
Once you have decided on your goal for 2016, it’s time to break that goal down into smaller goals so that you can work towards the end goal. Smaller quarterly goals are a great way to do this but make sure you set measurable and achievable smaller goals. Celebrate the small wins as you go through the year as this will motivate you to continue to reach the larger goal.
How do you put your plan in place? What do you need to consider?
Here are some key questions to ask yourself when putting your plan together.
Do you have the software and tools you need or do you need to purchase some additional tools? Is your practice management system ticking all your boxes? Is your appointment setting software set up on your website? Do you have welcome packs ready to go for new clients? Have you got project management software in place?
Do you have the finances you need or do you need to seek financial support? Do you need a financial partner for the project?
Have you completed the research you need to ensure that these are achievable goals? Have you checked out the competition in your area, what can you do differently to set yourself apart from them?
Do you have the staff and support you need or should you look at additional resources like a virtual assistant? You may need some some additional secretarial support for the duration of a project or you may be in need a personal assistant but you are not ready to hire a permanent employee so consider a virtual pa.
Do you have the systems and processes in place to carry out the tasks to reach those goals?
What marketing will you need to do? Do you have the skills to put that marketing campaign in place or do you need to work with someone on implementing the marketing?
Once your plan is in place then it's time to implement that plan and work your way to success. If you need additional support to reach your goal, then contact PA Excellence to see how we can help you succeed in 2016!
